"THE MARCH OF THE PENGUINS" CUT FOR PG RATING

Film-maker LUC JACQUET cut footage of penguin sex in his new movie documentary "THE MARCH OF THE PENGUINS" - because it would be pornographic.

The film recently become the most successful French language movie in US box office history.

The director insists scenes of sexual intercourse would have ruined the love story at the centre of his unusual piece. He says, "For me that would be the difference between pornography and eroticism. If you reduced human stories to copulation, reproduction and raising children, you'd have had it. But we have had 1,000 years of love stories, and no two have been the same."

This film is wonderfully touching. The Emperor penguins of Antarctica live one of the most difficult lives of any animal. There amazing mating story is told with great passion and grace.
